Lucie and Quinn's Wedding in Ocean Isle Beach, NC | Destination Wedding Photographer
Loved ones are moved to tears, and even strangers smile when they walk by, because Lucie and Quinn have the kind of love that you can see in the way they look at each other, and hear in the way that they build each other up. It was an honor to photograph their wedding with the breathtaking views in Ocean Isle Beach setting the perfect scene.
Lucie and Quinn fell in love in Suriname, South America, where they were both placed in a clinic doing field work. If you ask them, they will tell you that they owe everything to Suriname. After hearing about their love for travel, it didn’t surprise me (okay, maybe it surprised me a little, haha!) when plans changed and they decided to move their local wedding to the coast. After diving into their wedding experience, there was no question that I’d follow their love anywhere, so I was 110% down for the trip before they even told me which state we’d be headed to.
The couple booked a house on the beach, Southern Comfort with Luxury Lodging by Laura, that was large enough to house their family and friends for the entire long weekend. The house could be divided so that they guys and gals could get ready in the same location. It had direct access to the beach for the ceremony. Plus, an amazing patio and outdoor bar for everyone to gather for the reception.
Moments with Dad get us every. single. time.
Lucie and Quinn had personal gifts for all of their loved ones, and shared emotional moments with each of them. We all cried a lot. It was beautiful.
On the other side of the beach house, Quinn was quietly getting ready, and perfecting his vows.
That afternoon, we all slipped off our shoes and made our way to the beach where the ceremony was set up in the shape of a spiral.
Lucie and Quinn planned their wedding with several Harry Potter touches, but the best part was when the wedding party surprised Lucie by slipping on Harry Potter glasses as she made her way down the aisle.
Quinn let a few tears slip by the time she got to the center of the spiral.
Dad had a tough time holding it together too.
As they were literally surrounded by love and support, the two of them exchanged the most personal, beautiful, emotional vows, where we all had a hard time keeping it together.
And, just like that…MARRIED!
Of course, we dedicated some time to photos on the beach.
Then, met guests back at the beach house for the reception!
By the time I hugged the couple with a teary-eyed goodbye, the bridesmaids were jumping into the pool! A memorable ending to an epic day.
And, here’s one more of the three of us, because I love being their photographer and working without shoes.
