Shot by Chelsea 2018 Year in Review | Wedding Photographer
This last year has been AMAZING. Like amazing beyond words. And, since I cannot possibly find those words, I am going to shine a spotlight on the couples who have caused my speechlessness.
Shot by Chelsea kicked off January 2018 with the Wilsons! Erin was a STUNNING winter bride, and Brandon the most laid-back groom. I will never forget walking into The Season’s Event Center after they had transformed it into the most beautiful winter wonderland.
Two weeks later, I witnessed a piece of Megan and Dustin’s love story. Their intimate wedding was full of so. much. love. Dustin, we all melt when you look at her like that.
In February, Jen and Jim got married in the cozy coffee shop where they first met! My favorite thing about these two is that they are always having fun. Always. For example, their emotional first look eventually turned into a hilarious Nerf gun battle.
SBC travelled into Missouri to celebrate Lauren and Anthony’s spring wedding! These two strangers quickly became friends as we share so many things in common! Plus, they are two of the SWEETEST people you could ever meet, so they make loving them pretty easy.
Oh, Tara and Michael. Another couple that I am absolutely obsessed with. Between their crazy love for each other, their precious pup, and the classic getaway car that they drove away in, I will never forget their day.
Jill and Adam got married on a beautiful Friday in June; the date was also his parents’ wedding anniversary. They had so much fun on their wedding day! You should have seen how awesome the wedding party looked rolling up in a parade of Jeeps.
Next was Margaret and Jonny’s wedding day! I met Margaret in photo school, and was honored that she chose me to photograph her big day. Both their wedding and reception was on the family farm, and that set the scene a little extra special.
I dropped more than a few tears at this next wedding. I have been friends with Tommy and Kayla since high-school. Plus, when I married Ryan, they officially became family. So, witnessing their wedding day through my camera was like a dream.
August brought another big day for our friend circle. Kyle and my husband have been friends since Kindergarten. And, we LOVE how Kyle has brought Maranda into our lives. Being a part of this day meant the world to me.
Then, Katelyn and Derrick got married on what I’m pretty sure was the hottest day of the year. ha! They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at The Weingarten complete with a unity tree ceremony. Love that!
I hope this next couple knows how much it meant to me to be a part of their wedding day. Zach and Kelley are two of our best friends (2018 was definitely a year of personal weddings for us!), and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for them. Love you, guys!
The last year also meant welcoming some new couples to the SBC fam with their engagement sessions! I got to hang out with Morgan and Ray in September and hear all about the plans for their upcoming 2019 wedding!
The next week, we travelled to North Carolina for our first destination wedding! I will never forget what it felt like to stand barefoot on the beach while the most perfect light wrapped around the most perfect couple. It has been amazing to get to know Lucie and Quinn throughout their wedding experience. So much so, that I cried while hugging them goodbye at the end of the night.
A week later, I was laughing with Abby and Jacob, and celebrating their big day! Their genuine excitement and trust in me means more than I can put into words. I gained an awesome friend in Abby, and also a cool nickname that I am hoping will stick. Love, C-Dog.
I drove back to my favorite little town in Missouri for Whittney and Dustin’s engagement session! I CANNOT WAIT for their 2019 wedding. Is it summer, yet?
Elizabeth and Tyson also joined the fam in 2018, and we got to know each other a ton during their engagement session. They have a shared passion for lifting, which I think is the coolest and cutest thing ever. Only these two could be BA and adorable at the same time.
I was also able to welcome a few past SBC couples back for 2018 sessions! Below is Morgan and Chad, they got married with us in 2017, and are officially EXPECTING!
Kelsie and Geoffrey, also married in 2017, and they just moved into their BRAND NEW HOME!
Tyler and Jess were an SBC couple all the way back in 2015, so it was amazing to get their growing family in front of the camera again this year! They are about to be a family of FOUR.
Our last 2018 October wedding was Whitney and Adam’s! They hunt together and spoil their pups together, so basically they are a couple after my own heart. I loved that Remi and Kimber were there while they got ready, and also played a role in their first look.
The next day, I got to know Angela and Chris over their engagement session (with a campfire!). They joined us at the end of the summer and are planning their wedding for September of 2019!
Sarah and Jake got married on my favorite weekend of the year (Ryan and I’s anniversary weekend!). So, I was already walking into this day feeling all the feels. Their St. Louis wedding was STUNNING, and full of personal details that mean the world to them. I thought this was an appropriate photo to sum up their day, because everyone swoons when Jake dips Sarah. I mean, just look at them!
Next, I spent some time with Krista and Brock! They were visiting from Pennsylvania over the holidays so we JUST photographed their engagement photos last week! I love them already.
I closed 2018 with Jill and Chris at their NYE wedding. The best Monday there ever was!
To these couples and everyone in-between, THANK YOU from the very bottom of my heart for making 2018 so amazing. I wouldn’t be where I am without your trust, kind words, and tight hugs. It is an honor to be your photographer.
